On Friday the 17^th June the staff, pupils, members of the Board of Management and Parents’ Association gathered in our new extension for the official opening. The ceremony was presided over by the school’s Patron, the Very Reverend Bishop Liam Mc Daid.

Bishop Mc Daid recited a prayer which he had written especially for the occasion and then blessed the building.  Mrs Rooney thanked the Bishop for accepting the invitation to officiate at the ceremony. She also paid tribute to Mr. Packie McAdam, Chairman of the B.O.M. and the members of the Board, who had worked tirelessly to achieve the approval of the DES for the funding and the completion of the building works. She expressed her gratitude to the Parents Association and to all staff members for their support in reaching this great day.

        The ceremony of blessing ended with the pupils singing the hymn “How Lucky We Are” Mrs Rooney then took the invited guests on a tour of the extension and they were delighted to see the wonderful resources, which are available to the pupils. The new facility comprises a general classroom, a computer and library suite, consultation rooms and toilets. It is also entirely wheelchair accessible downstairs.
